Tropical colors and rainbow-bright shades took over Blackman’s West Palm Beach showroom on March 20 when Brooklyn-based glass artist Allison Eden introduced her newest line of textiles to about 130 guests: Allison Eden Textiles. The evening launch party featured cocktails and hors d’oeuvres amid Eden’s vividly-patterned fabrics and throw pillows. Sponsored by DXV, Benjamin Moore and Media Sponsor Jupiter and The Palm Beacher magazines of the Gulfstream Media Group, guests were impressed by this fresh new collection from the artist based on her mosaic glass art installations.
The guest of honor herself was proud to showcase her collection at the launch party, saying “It was so fabulous! Thank you so much for the support and the absolutely beautiful party; it was such a fantastic crowd as well.” Dressed in a flowing caftan made from her own line of fabric, Allison Eden mingled easily among the guests as she shared her design inspirations for the collection.
“Our expectations, as event co-sponsor, ran high for the premier event,” said Melissa Blanchenay, A & D Representative for Benjamin Moore & Co. “Allison Eden and her new line of textiles did not disappoint! To learn from Ms. Eden that she drew inspiration from Benjamin Moore’s newest line of super-premium interior paint Century, a luscious green color named Viridian (06), was all it took for me to know we were lucky to be a part of the night. The guests were attentive, subtle music played in the background, the food was delicious and the custom “lips” cookies based on one of her designs put a kiss on a perfect night.”
Laura Zele, Sales Account Manager for Jupiter magazine and The Palm Beacher, also shared her positive impressions of the evening. “It was a great party with great people! I loved meeting Allison. She is as colorful and full of fun as her fabrics and tiles. What a treat to meet her in person!”
Developed with LebaTex through whimsical explorations of shapes, colors and images, the textiles reflect Allison Eden’s pop art style and famous glass art installations. Her collection of fabrics and pillows is perfect for adding a dash of personality to any room in the house and is now available at Blackman showrooms in West Palm Beach and Southampton.
