Blackman Hosts Kohler in Bloom at the Art League of Long Island
We love to host a good party! Last weeks Kohler in Bloom event was no exception. Many of our closest A&D friends joined us as we launched new faucets and sinks from Kohler and Kallista at the Art League of Long Island. Customers previewed the latest Kohler products including the new Ombre faucet finish and Kohler Components faucet collection. Our guests were also able to enjoy the Art League’s impressive gallery space.
The Art League of Long Island
Established in 1955, the Art League of Long Island, located in Dix Hills NY, is a not-for-profit visual arts organization offering classes and workshops for children and adults, from beginner to advanced levels. Their Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery hosts a dozen exhibits per year, featuring contemporary works by many local artists. When we visited the space we instantly knew this was where we would host our Kohler in Bloom Event.
Kohler and Kallista product displays were artfully placed within the airy two-story art gallery. Big Picture works were currently on display and did not disappoint! Local artists from Suffolk, Nassau, Brooklyn, and Queens were invited to submit applications to show large works in the League’s spacious gallery. Out of 259 works submitted by 115 artists, 39 works were selected to exhibit in the gallery by Exhibition Juror Bruce Lieberman.
Guests mingled and enjoyed drinks and a luxurious spread from La Promenade of Teaneck, New Jersey. Attendees entered to win a gift certificate from the Art League of Long Island and a floral-themed Kohler Dutchmaster sink. Our favorite DJ Twilo was onsite dancing the night away; a video booth created an even more festive atmosphere for this electrifying evening. Local artist and friend of the Art League, Larry Aarons joined the fun sketching portraits for our attendees.
The Kohler Blackman Partnership
“The collaboration between Kohler and Blackman paid dividends for this amazing event! What a great way to promote our new faucet product introductions in such a beautiful venue with key customers on Long Island,” said Jill Mueller, Associate Channel Manager at Kohler.
Setta Tavitian, Senior Sales Executive at Kohler, agreed. “Incorporating the new faucets and sinks from Kohler and Kallista in the art gallery setting and treating like them like they were pieces of art drove home the point that the faucets in a bathroom are the jewelry with which you accessorize the space,” she noted. “I loved that no detail was overlooked and that even though the event was in an art gallery setting, the mood was fun an upbeat with a DJ, video booth and the inviting way the caterer displayed the food.”
That upbeat mood contributed to a successful evening, according to David Lyon Vice President Retail at Blackman. “I just loved how everyone was interacting with the products displayed and the art at the Art League!”
