Air-Source Heat Pump Program (ASHP)
Become a participating installer and gain access to incentives. Recent technology advancements in air-source heat pumps (ASHPs) have made them a strong alternative for space heating in colder regions like New York State, helping customers lower their energy costs and reduce emissions.
Only participating installers are eligible to apply for a $500 incentive on each installed ASHP system meeting Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) Cold Climate Air-Source Heat Pump specifications. As part of a larger ASHP strategy to increase the availability of these systems in the market, NYSERDA will provide up to $10.95 million in incentives to participating installers to advance the installation of ASHP systems in residential properties that include single-family and multifamily buildings.
Become a Participating Installer:
Step 1- Complete and submit an installer application
Applications must include the following documents:
• A copy of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Section 608 Technician Certification
• ASHP Manufacturer-sponsored installation Training Certificate or comparable proof of training completion documentation covering the following areas:
* Condensate Management
* Product Introduction
* R-410A and PVE Oil
* Electrical Wiring
* System Start-Up
* Evacuation and Charging
* Field Settings
* Piping and Charging
* Unit Location Considerations
Step 2- Submit project applications
Once you become a participating installer, you can begin submitting incentive applications. Participating installers may then decide how to use those incentives to maximize growth of their ASHP business.
